Solar Engineer

Provide design and planning for solar energy projects. Identify opportunities and provide design and engineering solutions for our commercial solar project customers. Recommend or specify modifications to existing roofing and/building systems when required for commercial clients. Electric usage calculations are required. Emphasize energy management techniques as well as solar system design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Identify and provide documentation for on-site requirements for solar energy production on customer owned buildings and provide follow-up as required to the customers.
Discuss usage elements of electrical energy consuming equipment i.e. lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, etc.
Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings when solar systems are installed, and collaborate with Structural, Electrical and other engineers as required.
Provide a professional appearance appropriate to represent Renu Energy.
Be able to work in a team atmosphere, and willing to collaborate on continuous improvement of operations year after year.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required.
Energy Efficiency experience is a plus including photovoltaic and solar thermal system design and engineering.
2-5 years experience required in electric utility, facilities management, energy equipment sales, or conservation and energy management.
